1978 Topps #1 Registry Set breakup is going well!!

After only a few days, about one-third of the set has been sold. I must admit, this has been a more intense experience than for which I originally bargained - but it has been fun. Kudos to Brian for the tremendous undertaking in the assembly of this gem.

A bunch of tough cards flew out, but also a slew of favorite players, teams, and random cards have gone - there still are a lot of real low pops left! Thanks to everybody so far who has made this an enjoyable and exciting time. The collectors with whom I have communicated, both email and on the phone, have been a cool bunch and have really made this crazy way of doing a breakup fun. When the direct requests die down, I will solicit to some registry members and then put the remaining cards into my ebay store and auctions.

This is a real hoot and I will make available to the board the results when all is said and done, as well as the pros, cons and insights that I may have on a big breakup. Until then, keep those requests rolling in.

Your 78 Rangers are at the top of the world. Way to go . I remember earlier this year bidding on a 78 PSA 10 Jim Mason. I figured no one would want the card . So I but in a bid of over $50. I got blown out of the waters. How did you come to like the Rangers so much? Are you from the DC area originally? How long have you been working on your sets?
On a side note , JOHN, that 78 Randy Jones PSA 10 , sure looks good in my set as well. Your bringing a lots of collecting cheer to the world. Thanks again,Sonny

Sonny------Thanks...... Went through high school in N. VA '59-'63. During that time rooted for the old Senators and the new Senators. Went to college in Texas and served a few tours of duty there too. Now retired AF in Texas--------- The new Senators moved to Texas -------- followed me:-))))))))))))) Tony

OH-----I began the Registry Nov 04 with the 78 topps Ranger set. The other sets followed with the late 70's early 80's being my favorites. I'm hoping to see TEAM MEGA SETS soon with my Texas Rangers Topps run from 72 to the present as the feature.
