When the mint says items shipped on 1/03/07, do they mean it?

Because when I plug in the tracking number for the post office, it doesnt show that the shipment exists. So did they ship it, as in putting it in the mail on 1/03 or did they send it through their shipping department on 1/03? Anybody know?

    USPS online tracking is worthless.

Are you sure it is USPS and not FedEX.

I'm in the same boat on my 1/4 oz W coin. It's a waiting game, hopefully this week.

I'm still trying to figure out where my SFO's Silver and Gold are. Shipped 12/19 USPS tracking shows they were sent to Ohio and KY.
    No updates since 12/20.
All my AGE's have come and my returns of the Proof SFO's have been shipped and rec'ed by me.
Still awaiting anything on my 2006-W UNC Eagle's mint shows in process

I was told by the p.o. that is not a tracking # and if you call the Mint they will tell you the same, that # is just an internal Register # whatever that is.image

    You can say that again.

As to the original question, my experience with Fedex is that if it says shipped, you've probably already recieved it. I've never asked them to use USPS. USPS might be a little easier for me but experience posted here is that it is slower. Secondly, when there is an established primary process like the USMint using Fedex, asking them to make an exception (or use an infrequently used service) significantly increases the likelihood of error.

The Mint is nuts with thier shipping methods. This week I rec'ed my SFO silver $1 via USPS. Didn't care not that costly. BUT, They shipped in another small box the SFO $5 Gold coin. The mailman just left it in the mailbox on the street. At least when they used DHL or Fedex I had to be home and sign for the shipments (like the Gold Eagles I got last week).
It doesn't make sense to me how they keep chaging the method of delivery.
I guess as long as I get it what the H_ll.

No. Usually, I get the coins the day they say they shipped (if expedited shipping, ie, overnight) so that means that they ship the day before it posts the date.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Any shipment from the Mint up to a value of $299 is shipped via the USPS. $300 and above is upgraded to FedEx overnight service at the Mint's expence except if your address is a P.O. Box.

    Huh?

Postal shipments cannot be tracking, you will know that it is delivered a week after it has been delivered if you are lucky.image

The shipping date that is displayed is (most likely) the day the shipping label was generated; the carrier does not necessarily have the package or even the tracking information. If the product was shipped Priority Mail, the tracking information will not mean anything until after it's delivered. image

    At least, that's my recollection.

Figure at least ten days from the day they ship it before you receive it if at PO Box.

At least that is how long it takes to get from Memphis to S.C.
And I ain't lying this time.
