Opinions Wanted on 1960 Fleer Set

Hey Guys,
I have a few extra $$ and I was surfing Ebay looking around when I found this 1960 Fleer set listed with no bids and a day plus left to go.
I think this is a pretty decent deal at the starting price, but my wife seems to think it is high because of centering issues on the cards. She suggested I post here and get everyones input before I place any bids.
So any input would be appreciated!

If centering doesn't bother you I would hold out for a set with sharp corners- there are tons of them out there, this set and '59 Fleer seems to have a lot of untouched cards. This price doesn't seem like any great deal, and unless you have to have it now I would pass.
BTW, the set is complete at 82 cards. And the last 3 are killers!

Thank you for the advice. Once I read your post, I took that off my watch list.
Tennesseebanker, thats really nice of you to offer. I am interested and I have dropped you a PM.
whole-heartedly agree with griffins...
are you buying to keep & enjoy or is investment a consideration?
NICE mid-grade/oc sets seem to be abundant & with some patience think you could do much better for just a little more money.
this particular set seems to be pretty rough on the key cards.
personally, i consider the set to be complete at 79 cards since the final three (all #80) were apparently never distributed thru conventional sources!
in any case, it's a fun, challenging (depending on condition requirements) & highly nostalgic.
best wishes with the set!
Thanks for the advice. I am just looking to add one to my collection for enjoyment, nothing more. It's filled with HOF'ers and is at a price range where I can afford a 40+ year old set.
whatever you end up doing, have some fun with this set!
regards
Mark- I have read that a few #80's did make it into packs- and the one I have was factory cut. I'm sticking with 82 in the set

I had made the #2 set just over 3.5 years ago...at the time 8's were bringing good money..and 9's were bringing $200+ each...and Levi Had the only 10 at the time.
Today..there are ton more 9's....and even more 8's out there.
This was one of my all-time favorite sets...
But for just a little moremoney..you can put this set together as all 7's and 8's....
I sold my set to Levi 2 years ago...all 8's across the board....for $2100. I had pulled the 9's and sold them off...refilled them with 8's. At that time, I had the only #79 as a PSA 9. It was sold to Peter Lalos, from Champs and Bums, for $400. He later resold it in his auction for $700.
Today, there are more and more 9's popping...and even the 10's that have come out are crazy.
Remember too...if you want to build a nice raw set card for card...they do not sell for much on Ebay and other sites....the only way to capitalize on them is to grade them. So if you want raw....that will work in your favor. Then you can pick and choose nicer centered cards for an eye apealing set!!
Just my 2 cents,
