A little help here please, I have an 1868 UK Farthing that has "small 8 varierty" written on the label by a previous owner. I am not that familiar with this series so are there two varieties (small and large)? Also does this variety run through different dates or certain years?
The coin is a deep, chocolate brown and this is the best image I can get

The coin pictured looks to be an 1865? I don't see a variety listed in Spink or Coincraft for 1865 or 1868 with a small 8....
Thanks

<< <i>Oops, typo it is an 1865 coin. I have checked Spink as well but not Krause. I will check Krause tonight unless someone can look it up now
Thanks

It is listed in Krause, the small 8 does not show a premium over the large, in my 2nd edition Krause
