Venezuela Topps - how valuable?

I recently came across and purchased a 1968 Venezuela Topps Tom Seaver in very good condition. Unfortunately, PSA was tough and gave it a 4 rating. Nonetheless and even with a PSA 4 grade, this is now the highest rated Seaver card for this distribution...and, even better, there only 3 cards graded for the '68 Venezuela Topps Seaver. Yet, the card remains part of Seaver's Master Set Registry with PSA.

Since the Venezuelan Topps are so rare, I am naturally curious as to this card's value. I'd appreciate your thoughts and ideas on value.

Don't know how much they are worth but from what I have seen they bring quite a bit. I would love to see the Seaver.....

I have a full run of Brooks Robinson Venz. cards-they vary in price and condition- the 72 topps Venz. stickers are hard and valuable....I would say $150 to 300 dollars for that card.The 62 Brooks (ex $100-150)is my best card..condition and value.....my 67 is rough...these where made on very cheap paper stock and the printing quality was very low...it looks like a bad conterfeit of the real 67 topps.....others are 15 to 40 dollars in value.I have to say I love the spanish bio's on the back....Scott

I've seen varying results on limited Venezuelan sales. Example, 1977 Venz stickers. I bought a PSA 1 Johnny Bench and paid >$100 because there were 2 or 3 registry guys going after it. I also bought a GAI 1.5 that crossed into a PSA 2 for about $75. But my 2 was the highest graded (probably still is). I paid $100 for a 1964 Willie Mays PSA 1 several months back. It knocks the hell out of my registry totals, but it's among the rarest of the cards I own. I think you really need the advanced collector, registry or not, player collector or not, to help dictate the value of the cards.
I would suspect your 68 Seaver, even in a 4, would go for a couple hundred bucks, at least.

Sweet cards, 67standup! The Yaz RC is particularly nice, is that a PSA 5? High grade for that issue!

Thanks Grote. I had a PSA 4 Yaz Rookie that sold for $2750 a few years back, the scan is of my PSA 5. Vens are tough, I consider the '72 Sticker the rarest issue. I sold a fellow boardmember this Parker as he needed it for his collection, the '76s are also very tough. Josh who posts on the board is the expert IMO.

Cool Parker sticker (with the 75 Topps motif to boot)! The headshot is a real original shot and a unique photo of a slugger who IMO does not get the recognition he deserves. In some odd way, the wear and tear on the Vens add to their appeal, IMO. Much like, a really nice circulated coin has more eye appeal than a nicked-up uncirculated coin, if I can use that analogy.

A year or so ago I purchased my 1964 #250 Venezuelan Topps Al Kaline ....... P S A - 8 !

This and a couple other cards will go with me to my grave! LOL! Card is very well centered
and really not much chipping on the black back. I paid over $300 for it and I would certainly
pay the much if I could again for the same card!

I will try and get a scan up of the front and back for all.

Thanks gang! I am rather proud of that one! Honestly, I have never seen one even close
to this one, condition wise of ANY card.

When this originally came up for sale, I bid up to $800 for it and lost! I think the original
bidder re-nigged and it went back up. I bought it for a song on the second go-round!

This is a card that will never leave my possession unless someone offers me some really
really really stupid number! LOL!

Just checked the Pop report: of the 313 '64 Venezuelans slabbed by PSA, only *3* have graded "8" (and none higher). One is the only graded Gary Peters (#130), another is the final checklist (#362, also the only graded) and your Kaline, a truly amazing card. It must be the Grail for Kaline collectors...

It is definitely my favorite non-mainstream card of Kaline in my collection. It is, as you said paleocards,
the current HOLY GRAIL of Kaline cards, save for the 1961 Dice Game.

It was, at the time I purchased it, the ONLY PSA 8 graded in the entire set. As you say though, they have
now graded three, which seems to me to be UNREAL!
