You know, with the kind of money being made today by athletes and movie stars (wesley snipes) that they would be a little more hands on with their own money and not believe everything they hear from their accountant. The first i hear "don't worry about it" or "we can get around that", start to worry!!!

My understanding is this goes back to the Brewers days...

We don't need to pay no stinkin' taxes!
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

In defense of Rollie........I live in Wisconsin and used to own a business. When I closed the business I found out a year later I owed about 300.00 in some retail taxes that I was not aware of. (I was glad to finally close the business and I guess it overlooked this detail). I received a letter from the state a year later saying I owed 2200.00 and then a month later as I was working things out with the state they sent a letter saying I owed 35000.00. The person I talked to at the dept of revenue said that the state regulary sends out these letters with the high amounts because it tends to get people to call and dispute the dollar amounts therefore opening up discussions with the state.

So I doubt Rollie owes this much money as it might just be a play from the state to get him to open discussion and get the matter settled.

And I did pay the 300.00 in full with no penalties!!
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

I saw Fingers at the National a few years ago, and let me tell you about the wad of hundreds he pulled out of his pocket. It was crazy.

I talked with Rollie a few years ago at a Sun Times show. He asked to look at his rookie cards that I had for sale. I asked him if he was interested and he said "I just like to look at my rookie card - I have around 300 of them already". He may need to sell a few.
Always looking to buy old Minnesota Twins and Vikings memorabilia like Nodders, Photo Pennants, and Photo Buttons.
