    Meanwhile, why does it always seem that LSU gets to play a "home" bowl game. They played Illinois in New Orleans in 2000.

    Because they often win the SEC, and the SEC champion usually plays in the Sugar Bowl. (Before the BCS, they always did.)

    You could say the same for USC (or UCLA) in the Rose Bowl.

    And then there are teams like Hawaii, which -- if they are eligible -- will ALWAYS be invited to, and accept the bid to, the bowl game in their home stadium. Unless they ever made the BCS, anyway.
