Did I get a good deal on this???

Hey did I get a good deal on this?

Even though the photo did not show up on the page, I took a gamble

and placed a bid and won. Unopened pack of Topps from 1948 EX/MT item was listed in

the Sports Memorbilia section, and the guy only had vintage stuff, most items he was

selling the many of the photos were missing.

1948 Topp Unopened pack

1948 Topps? Is it just a pack of gum?

Topps didn't make cards until the 50s. I beleive.

sounds like a pack of gum to me too. Topps didnt make any cards in 1948, unless you think it could be Bowman. I dont think anyone with vintage knowledge would know that Bowman didnt sell to Topps until 1956 so doubtful there are any cards...but who knows without a pic, right? For 16 bucks, may be a fair risk.

I was going to say it may be a typo but he does mention 1948 twice (once in title and once in body).

Eh.. Worth the gamble but don't expect much.

    Good luck image
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • I was thinking it was the small photo cards, hmmmm.... we'll have to see is it gum, or is it cards...lol.

Did Topp's have a chewing gum line back then?

I think it's an excellent pick up. I'm sure based on the description and price there's no card in the pakc, but's it's a cool thing to have. Zindler's is a solid dealer, too.
