jradke, The Super Bowl Favre is a great card with unlimited potential. I reluctantly traded the only PSA 10 to another board member a few months ago for a PSA 9 and some cash.

C'mon now. It wasn't some cash. It was alot of it!
I have luckily owned 3 of these in my time. One PSA 8, one PSA 9 (now Joe's), and this PSA 10.

    The card in question...

Mine is a 1991 Wild Card 100 Stripe Brett Favre #119, quickly followed by the 50 Stripe and 5 Stripe of Favre.

Mine would be a 1980 Topps Magic/Bird/Erving PSA 10 or a 1966 Panini Cassius Clay PSA 10 (which does not exist as of yet - a PSA 9 would likely sell for $5000 plus).
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

I've got two. The Ruth card will be on the list longer than the autographed poster, I suspect.

  • If I had to choose only one, then it would be a 1967 Topps Stand Up of Pete Rose.

If I were to get greedy, then I'd also want the 68 Topps Disc (if one actually exists) and a 1968 Topps Plak of Rose as well.
    kev

keeping my ears open for oddball cards of Rose from the 60's and 70's.

I would love it in an 8. I am not greedy. So do two have a Favre sets up on the registry?? Some one has a BGS 9.5 in his Ebay store and has a BIN of $7,995. I know they are were but not that rare. Let me know if either of run across any let me know. I will even take a raw one.

    Bought my grail today.
A Reggie Jackson rookie PSA 8.
Of course I had to sell two 5s plus several other cards to get it but it's worth it to me.

This isn't just one card but -

All the 1960's Topps World Series cards in PSA 8. I love the style and pics. "Mantle' Clutch HR", "Gibson Wins Finale" etc. - classic!

I'll start picking them up as soon as I can figure out how to display them in holders.

From the "you wouldn't believe me if I told you" files...

    A Geert Hammink autographed card.

    Who?

He was Shaq's back-up at LSU. I used to go to "nerd camp" to take classes for high school credit over the summers at LSU. I had a class across the hall from him one summer. I struck up a conversation with him one day, and I would talk to him on occasion. My friends didn't believe that I "knew" an LSU player, until we went to a game that next season, and he recognized me...

Anyway, he got drafted by the Magic in 1994. I got caught up in my senior year and college and the like and never sent a card through the mail while he was in the league.

However, he was one the Shaq/Penny Orlando teams, so someone out there has that Geert Hammink autograph. So... one day... maybe.

  • How about a 1941 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio that was centered and had some color?
  • I'd have to go with the Ty Cobb Turkey Red in PSA 3 or better for my first pick and probably never happen one. Second would be the 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews. I WILL have this card some day in 4-6 range for my set.
