Brady Quinn wants to play for the Browns

According to John Clayton on ESPN this morning. He might be sending a message to the Raiders and the Lions "please don't draft me". image

Why not, it worked out wonderfully for Eli.

I sincerely hope, that if given the opportunity, the Lions pass on Quinn. I think he could be a decent player, but really don't believe he's going to be a great QB. Further, Detroits' QB position is suspect, but they have greater needs at this point and I hope they try to address them for once in the draft.

If Cleveland wants him, they'll have to sweeten the deal for Al Davis. The Raiders badly need a QB and Quinn would seem like a logical pick for them. They may have to throw in a 2nd or 3rd round pick in addition to their first pick if they want Oakland's #1 pick in return.
  • Im surprised Quinn is talking like he is a first pick lock. At any other school, he would not be nearly as noticed. If I were either of the top two, Id have no problem passing on Quinn. Do the Browns really want him that badly ?
  • i call shenanigans on this story. no one wants to play behind that offensive line.

Quinn again struggled last night in a big game. I'm not saying he can't be a good NFL QB, I'm just saying that his performances in big games should deter some professional teams from considering him so early.

    Agreed.

Here are Quinn's numbers in ND's three games against currently ranked opponents this year (all losses):

61-128, 656 yards, 8 TD, 5 INT. That's an average of about 20.3 for 42.7, 219 yards, 2.33 TD and 1.67 INT. Not exactly tearing it up.

Other than those games? 228-339, 2770 yards, 29 TD and 2 INT. Average per game? Divide these stats by 10.

That should raise concern -- if not a red flag -- to NFL front offices. He won't be seeing the likes of Army or Stanford in the NFL.
