Grades popped from $5 special -pics of new holder

I submitted 60 Urlacher cards during the special for my player set whenever it is finally added. Pretty pleased with the results. I was a little worried about PSA grading a couple of the cards due to thickness, but they did. Maybe some are in the new holders for thick cards, although I am not holding my breath.

15- 10's, 34- 9's, 11- 8's not too bad

On our card submission form, please note that PSA is now capable of grading most modern patch cards, which are substantially thicker than normal card issues. With the creation of our unopened pack holder, these premium cards can now be encapsulated in, arguably, our finest holder to date after making some custom modifications to the mold.

Thanks guys. I was really surprised by the amount of 10's and 9's, even considering they are modern.
Nathan, I will make sure I include some Seau's in my next sub.
It's kind of funny b/c Seau used to be my favorite player until Urlacher showed up.

obviously it's not first in, first out- mine were recieved 12.1 and logged in 12.8 and still haven't popped. Maybe I should package mine with beer or cheetos next time.

Ok here are the pics of the new holder

pic #3. 06 Playoff Tools of the trade quad- pretty thick card. Card is tight in the holder.


Pic #1. 04 Fleer sweet sigs- this card is not very thick- as a matter of fact, an almost identical 04 sweet sigs I sent in with this same order was put in a normal holder.
the large holder has an insert in the back for different sized cards/packs. For some reason this holder has a large insert so the card is very loose.
the card above has a smaller insert making it tight.

I'm just curious why this was done. Of course I want my card tight in the holder and may contact PSA to seeif I can send it in to be fixed.
The new holders are large and very sturdy.

so how thick to the holders appear to be. do you think they will hold last years up exquisite patches/auto helments? i guess i have to get mine thick cards ready for the next special.

These holders are designed for pack grading, so they will fit any of the thickest cards I have seen. I will definitely be sending more cards (thicker) when the next $5 special comes up.

I sent my thick cards in card saver IV's (I believe, but can't remember)

the holders are approx. 4 3/8" X 7".
They are very nice.
I have to say that I am very happy PSA is offering this service to us. It will allow some of us modern player collectors to add to our registry sets.

Could you please give us the third measurement/dimension of the holder. IE: thickness, depth etc. Thank you for the scans.

Nathan, the actual holder is approx. 1/2" thick. The area inside where the card is house can vary depending on which back they put on the holder. It is designed to be able to house various sizes and hold the card securely.
