Maybe it was Alabama instead of Arkansas. Selma, Alabama, to be specific.
And he had a speech impediment, speaking with a lisp, so "Star of Selma" came out sounding like "Star of Thelma".

No, I guess if he had a listhp it woulda sounded more like "Thar of Thelma".
