the rose bowl sucked

i thought the media did a pretty good job of trying to motivate both of these teams to play hard. if both teams played to their potential, i thought this game was going to be a classic. usc played great despite losing to a piss poor ucla team to end their regular season, and big blue blew.

  • USC is going to be ranked #1 in the preseason polls IMO.

Musburger liked the game too since he made it obvious he was on the over.

I was expecting a much better game. USC played great... congrats to the Trojans

And yes... if we fast forward to August 2007, USC will be ranked #1 in the pre-season polls.

Great teams don't lose to UCLA. Trojons didn't do anything and are scared to come East. We all knew Michigan lost their hard
on when they didn't get into the title game. The rose was wilted..I hope the championship game is better!

I'm sure it will be an epic game, what with the Gators being prepped for battle by the mighty Florida State Seminoles and all.

Jarrett is a classless jackass with all that taunting crap. I was hoping someone would lay him out good for it.

It sucked for the same reason that 80% of the bowl games that Michigan plays in suck; because they are perennially overhyped going into their bowl, and their coach is one of the great dullards currently prowling the sidelines in DI college ball. You want to know what Michigan has going for them? Cool looking unis and 100 years of tradition. That's it. In the last God-knows-howmany years they have exactly one fraudulent national championship to their name (Nebraska would have abused them if it had come to that) and a bunch of drum-jobs that have been laid on them by the Pac-10 in the Rose Bowl.

I don't think I'd enjoy U of M's annual ass kicking in January so much if their fans weren't so insufferable. But they are, and so I do. Well done, condoms! Jarrett is classless, but I'm willing to look past that and congratulate USC for ripping another aggressively mediocre Michigan team on national TV.

Considering the amount of whining and b*tching that came out of Ann Arbor after UM was passed over for the title game, the Rose Bowl beat down was almost inevitable.

USC just seemed more motivated and excited to be at the Rose Bowl. I hope this ends the stupid arguements about UM being title worthy.

BTW - The Trojans aren't afraid to play East. They went to Arkansas this year and blew them out.

I am willing to bet that if you start today and go back 45 years, USC will likely have one of the best records in College Football on the road. They are tough anywhere... in the past few years, they won at Auburn and this year at Arkansas.

For the record, Michigan won its first 5 Rosebowl games and overall, they are 9-11 in the Rosebowl against the PacTen.
