LOL, with Martz in control, I expect big numbers from Calvin if they keep him. They probably will still only win 3-5 games, but at least Calvin would get the ROY and go to the pro bowl image

And who is blocking for whoever is chucking the ball downfield?

Our worst QB is better than Tampas best sadly enough. And Tampa still passes on someone like Quinn?

  • Atleast the Bucs aren't consistently horrible like you guy are. Every team has a bad year once in a while. 2005 NFC South divison champs. 2002 Super bowl champs. When was the last time the Lions were one of these?

Sure, Detroit sucks... Never said they didn't. Tampa does too. You seem to forget that, Your team has a history of bad years until a small 5 year stint. Now they suck again. Hooray. Go Gaines.

I went to Georgia Tech and saw Calvin play every Saturday. I was just asking for the Lions to not draft/ruin him. He went from not having a QB in college to not having a QB in the pros.

It's not like most of the teams drafting early have a QB of note either. He was bound to be playing for either an over-the-hill loser or a young, unproven QB.

Agreed, but I was hoping to see Detroit trade the pick. I know they liked Russell and there was an outside chance Oakland would have traded their pick for a veteran QB causing Calvin to go #1. I don't blame Detroit for taking the best guy available, but another good WR is the last thing they need...

Actually, another good WR is not a bad thing for them. Roy and Calvin running the outside with Furrey in the middle is going to be a scary thought for most D's. Most of the other teams drafting early don't have a star WR with the exception of Arizona, so he wont see the double teams here he may have saw with a Cleveland, Raiders or Tampa. Again, I know he'll put up some big numbers here if he stays healthy. Furrey, a converted back-up DB caught 100 passes here last year under the Martz system. Calvin, if kept, will put up some big numbers. More so than in LA, Cleveland or Tampa.

  • You make some good points, but I still reserve the right to be afraid when my favorite player dons a Lions jersey.

LOL, I feel your pain, my friend. As a Lions fan, you know I must. Thus the title of my other thread discussing whose career the Lions will ruin next. Hopefully CJ helps turn them around. Then we both can be happy image
