The blue version of that Beatles set...later yrs ( like 68-70 or something ) was the first album I ever owned on 8-track. My parents bought it for me for christmas when I was 4 or 5 along with a brand spanking new 8-track player from sears !

I still have dozens upon dozens of 8-tracks which are all in perfect working condition and two players that work just as well as the day they were new. If you can get a tape in perfect condition on a player in perfect condition the sound is purer than a CD.

Amen to that a good 33 1/3 or a 8 track in perfect condition is better sound than any CD.
  • Over the years things keep changing, some of us still have our 8 tracks, cassettes, albums and now cds plus whatever else has come out that I don't have yet. I was never real crazy about restarting my collection with the latest and supposedly greatest products that come out every so many years. 8 tracks and records sounded great to me and I was happy with that back in the day. I guess you have to hand it to the electronic industries marketing of these new products. You can end up with an 8 track, cassette, album and cd of all your favorites, you end up paying 4 times over the years for the same thing, and every so many years something else comes along and the stacks and piles get bigger. Oh well, music is a great thing so I'll keep playing along with all the changes!
