<< <i>How about $5 modern special but only $1 if they grade 8 or less!? >>
If 73's are considered modern you have my vote
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
NONE !!! Let them get caught up a bit. The ticket special is good enough for January !! I have cards recieved Dec. 11 and still not logged in yet. I called and they are not on the problem pile. One of them is a 5 day 13 dollar a card. Well obviously the 5 day doesn't start until they get logged in. Sorry but this is rediculous when you have to wait so long just for them to get logged in. Wait till they get back from the holidays. I sent in another 45 card sub at the 2nd last day of the 5.00 dollar special. Imagine how many other PSA members did the same ??? Going to take over a month just to get your subs logged into the system. Steve

This sounds like a good idea. One thing that I wonder is: What is everybody getting graded? I know what I have there, and it's all essentially lop pop stuff from the 80's and early 90's. But what about everyone else? I just seems weird that as the prices for post-1972 graded cards keeps falling, the number of subs PSA receives at least appears to keep growing.
i agree with the ticket special. They are seemly so back logged that it'll be spring before some of the last $5 specials pop.

I have 1952 Parkhurst hockey under the 6.00 dollar special. 1952 Parkhurst hockey under the 5 day 13.00 dollar special. Tall boy bulk of 65 cards at 8.00 dollars. Another 1972 to present 45 card order for the 5.00 dollar special

I sent in a lot of cards for the personal collection that I've been piling up waiting for a special. I have a lot of Oklahoma Sooner rookie cards worth about $5 that I just wanted to get into holders but couldn't justify the cost of regular grading. I also sent in a lot of cards from modern sets that I'm trying to complete for the set registry. When you're trying to put together a set like 94 SP football, there aren't many times better to send in a bunch of $1 and $2 commons to get graded.

I agree with 80sJunkie, let's do a Pack Grading Special!
I have to disagree with all those in favor of not having a special. If there are current cards that people need graded, there is always the ablity to send in under the regular service level. For those people waiting for December specials to post, any January Special submissions would simply fall behind the submissions already at PSA. It is understood that using one of the specials that states "turnaround varies with demand" that you are looking more at price then speed.
So, I'm not seeing any negative to having additional specials!
submissions arent graded on the basis of first in first out. so they will likely be someone that has a jan special graded before mine that were logged in on 12/12. which happen to be subs from the tall boy special. they got there on 10/31. sat on the problem shelf for over month, even though I had talked to and emailed a rep in early Nov. Then had a second call in early dec about the same order.

I'd like to see the modern special be a permanent fixture for a while to help get more modern cards into PSA holders.
They can add other specials on a rotating basis for the vintage collectors. With the price caps they have on the cheaper specials all of the important vintage cards have to use a different service level anyway.
I'd also like to see a special early in the new year for the thicker cards that they have a new holder for.
Hope everyone's new year iis off to a great start
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards
I agree with halo, if the modern special was a fixture there would not be a large backup everytime there is the special. A second option would be to reduce the $6 bulk from 100 cards to 25 cards. I would not wait for a $5 special then and PSA gets an extra $1 per card. win/win.

I called PSA earlier today and they said it was going to be a ticket grading special and an extendion on the card grading special. He said it was on the main page of the site but my page still says December special.
Missed the last Tallboy special. Wouln't mind seeing that one again.

My last sub was 587 cards from 1972-present. Mailed on 12-2, logged in on 12-14, graded by 12-21, recvd. back (in two days!) on 12-23. Tremendous turnaround. Mostly it was 1970's cards and early to mid 1980's cards.
This was my first sub ever with a mixture of great grades and terrible grades. Usually it's one way or the other. It's like I got the easy grader, the right on the money grader and the grader of the death all in one package.
Very happy with the turnaround times however. Love getting the cards back before the credit card bill arrives.
