Bowman originals question..

I opened a couple of these packs recently (not a new product guy normally) as a gift from my wife. Can anyone tell me about them as far as the BLUE REFRACTOR AUTO set that has cards stamped on the back out of 150. I pulled a blue refractor auto Craig Italiano 1/1 and would like to know if the kid is going to make the Oakland A's this year and any info. on him would be apreciated. Thanks in advance and sorry for the confusing post....I think i'm struggleing to get my thoughts out here

<< <i>Hello. the card you have was originally part of the 2005 Bowman Draft Pick set. It is a Blue Refractor an was limited to 150. Now, Bowman bought back a bunch of cards and then had them signed for the Bowman Original product. Bowman only bought 1 of these back and had the player sign it making it the 1/1 as shown on the front. Hope this helps a bit. >>
You sure they bought them back and not just had product stored?
Pimp On....
Italiano was drafted out of high school by the A's which is really rare as GM Billy Beane prefers college players because he feels they are more proven and can they can tell if a prospect will make it much sooner than HS kids.
The kid is supposed to have a fastball in the mid to upper 90s range, but doesn't have great mechanics. A couple of things I have read compared him to Brad Lidge's delivery, where he kind of short arms or pushes the ball with a lot of effort rather than a nice fluid delivery like Justin Verlander. Any pitcher, especially a young one is at a risk of arm injury if they don't have good form (Dibble comes to mind), and reportedly he's already had some elbow and shoulder issues. But the A's have one of the best "teaching" organizations in baseball and don't rush young players, so who knows.
Since he's only 20 and still raw he won't be heading for the Show for a while.
Hope this helps.
