Dealers and SMR?

Do any dealers buy cards, at smr? like mantle, ruth, williams, etc... or do all dealers try to rip you off?

Some might pay more than SMR for cards they need
    for a customer.

Most dealers must try to at least double their money
when they buy cards over the counter.

It costs a bunch of money to find a place to sit and
wait for people to bring cards in that they want to
    sell.

There's no way a guy can buy your card at the going rate - in general - no profit.

A reputable dealer will pay you based on the "flip" time.

The faster they can move the item - the more they can afford to pay you.

edit: for clarity - Overrated - I used the term "going rate" for an item - ebay is a guide e.g. - the SMR is way off on some cards - and the going rate could be higher or lower.

If a dealer is buying at SMR, the card normally sells at well above SMR. THis is the case for many pre-war cards.
