Now this is different then the best team you could put together - think of all the players you LOVE and field a team - include a DH a bench spot a starting pitcher and a closer.
Leadoff - CF -Rickey Henderson
RF - Ichiro
SS - Derek Jeter
1b - Don Mattingly
LF - Dave Winfield
DH - David Ortiz
C - Jorge Posada
3b - Mike Pagliarulo
2b - Jose Reyes
Bench - David Wright - Not because Pags is better - but because I liked Pags more - now this wouldn't hold in a rookie collection lineup.
Starting pitcher - Satchel Paige
Closer - Dave Righetti
