I'm going to bid on a coin in an NNC holder!

Indeed, I believe this coin is correctly graded. It may even by PQ and thus (gasp) undergraded!
This guy's scans always come out pebbled and granular-looking.
Don't any of you touch it. It's mine.

Not a bad looking coin, although it is hard to grade from that scan. The good news is that there's not much downside there in terms of price if it has a bit of rub or funny toning. Good luck.

PS - NaNCy slabs..... couldn't they come up with anything better than NNC for a name?

I have seen many - let me repeat MANY coins in NNC holders that are problem coins that were cracked out of ANACS and NCS holders and then show up in those light blue NNC holders graded higher and with no mention of the problem(s).

Extreme caution / low-ball bidding is the way to go.

It most assuredly will be low--no worries there.

I bought an NNC MS67 graded Rosy. Cracked it, sent it to NGC where it graded MS67FT. Doesn't happen very ofter. image

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
  • Don't worry, its all yours.
  • I have bought two NNC coins, both overgraded... that scan is a tough one to grade from, so you may get lucky. Worst case is MS63 if I had to put a stake in the sand. Nice looking coin, good original color, and that lovely 1913 T1 strike!
    Life is short, buy it!

I am actually suprised they didn't call it a 65 or 66. If you get it I would be curious as to what you feel the grade is once you have it in hand.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

This seller is well known for selling horribly overgraded coins. Look at some of his raw stuff. The coin you picture could be an exception, but the picture isn't good enough to tell for sure.

I just way overpaid for this toned Stone Mountain Half in an NNC holder. Say what you will about the holder, which won't be around for long once I receive it, the coin itself appears to me to have attractive natural toning.
