1997 Press Plates! Please Get PSA to Grade These!!

Psa won't grade my 1997 New Pinnacle Press Plates and 1997 Pinnacle Press Plate Preview! They say that since they are made out of metal they are not considered "Cards" Hello! The Plates were inserts with the cards!! C'mon guys, help me to make sure that Jerry Meyer's Carpotunnel wasn't in vein by asking PSA to grade and add these cards to our Player Registry Sets! By the way that whole Jerry Meyer Joke is a serious inside one!! I mean only the Devoted Pinnacle Fan can understand that one! Anyways, I want my 1 of 1's Friggin' graded and placed in my Registry sets as the Weighted 10 Masterpieces that they are!!

PS. PSa actually ended up grading my press plates but only through their autograph service! Yeah they graded Jerry Meyer's signature on the Back of the 1997 New Pinnacle Press Plate! Geez, It's just like Spock would say "That's soooo last year." Wait that's Paris Hilton. Spock would say something like "That's effin' illogical."

I don't think 1 of 1's should be allowed in Registry Sets. It's unfair to everyone else. I think anything less than 25 should be excluded.
  • Only time 1 of 1's should be allowed is if they are pulled from a pack. I agree with PSA, those are not cards but dies that make the card. That would like asking PSA to grade the die that made this years quarters and consider it a coin just because it was used to make the coins ??
NO it's a die to make the card so sorry i don't think you will find one person to agree with you on this one.

PSA won't add 1/1 cards to player set registries.

I agree they should grade pack-issued press plates, but that's their prerogative.

No such details will spoil my plans...
  • They definitely will never be added to the Master set John because they are 1 of 1's. I am suprised they wouldnt grade them though, especially since they said they aren't cards because they are made of metal, because they grade the 1996 Leaf Steel. I believe 1 of 10's is as low as cards can go and still be added to the Master set.
  • I completely agree with John. A card die is not a card. Further there is no established grade lines on these items. They are kind of neat in player collections. I have about a dozen in my Steve Young collection (which I don't work on anymore).

They did not grade the press plate...as you wrote "they graded Jerry Meyer's signature."

  • PSA rules state that if a card is less then 1 out of 5, it wont be allowed on master registry..(so 1 out of 5 card is allowed)
