IS CRACKING REALLY A GOOD IDEA? in the long run

i know so many people love to crack the graded cards so they can resend them in hopes of a better grade but if everyone does it wont some lower grades be made to have more grades then there really are? so lets say i have a psa-8 mantle rookie and i re sub it and it gets a 9 then there may seem to be 45 graded 8's but lets say 44 other people do the same thing and they all get new gardes of 8 also now there seems to be 89 graded 8 cards when in fact there are only 44...ami making any sense?

the only reason i thought of this is because so many people seem to be doing this in hopes of a better grade.

yes, and this is why the pop reports are just rough guidelines and not absolute.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Population reports only signify one side of the equation, the perceived 'supply' of a card available in a certain grade.

If there is sufficient demand there, prices will rise. The free market rules, and the population report only serves as a guide to the relative easiness or difficulty in finding a particular card. Most experienced collectors develop a feel for how truly tough a card may be, independent of what the population reports may suggest.
