NGC to certify "Early Releases" (instead of "First Strike")

Who on earth would care if a coin is an "early release" ??? Please, people, don't be foolish enough to pay a premium for a designation like that. You might as well pay extra for coins that happened to be encapsulated on a Thursday, or on a day that is divisible by six, or is a prime number, or coins that were received from the Mint under a tracking number ending in "8" ...

  • But the holders will still be nicer. If you're gonna hold the coin, may as well have it in an eye-pleasing holder. Remember, once its slabbed, its inseparable from the coin.
  • Unfortunately the people who pay extra for these do not reside on this board, you will not reach to many people here. You are more likely to find people submitting them here to make the extra money. I do not think it is possible to reach the "right" people unless you get this message into some of the coin rags.

    Unbelievable!

It was stated here how several die pairs are used throught-out the minting of any given product. I guess word doesn't always reach the NGC forums. (sigh)

I think that when the dust settles, the owners of First Strike coins should receive a $10 refund for each First Strike slab that they own and the option of reslabbing their coins without the First Strike designation, if they wish, at no expense.
