Cliff Mishler calls John Wilson an "ANA apologist"

In his Jan. 2 Numismatic News column detailing his experiences at the recent MSNS show in Dearborn. He may be right, I don't know but I
felt the remark was still not very nice. Wilson being a former ANA president I guess it is not unexpected that he would come to the
ANAs defense on various issues. Mishler is running for the ANA board.

I like John, and have no problem with him stating his opinions in defense of the ANA.
    .
FWIW, I will vote for Cliff Mishler.

I don't get NN, so I cannot comment until I read the article.

They are both nice guys and I thought they were on friendly terms. Suprised he put that in writing.
  • Joel Orosz really unloaded on Cipoletti in the 1-1-07 issue of CW, made reference to Cipoletti's being a skilled lawyer, only offering answers to what fit his particular version of the truth, and ignoring the most serious charges leveled by Sklow. It's similar to what non-lawyers call half truths or worse.

I didn't agree with that letter, which I saw as more of a personal attack, rather than a constructive discussion of the issues in a fair way. I am not a big fan of the ANA currently, but that letter did not add much to a useful discussion of the issues. Granted, passions are running high right now, but it is time to take action in more concrete form rather than more letters to the editor of CW.

Have the present goals of the ANA ever been clearly stated?

When did Cliff Mishler decide to run? This is news to me.

And by the way, I have respect for both Mr. Mishler and Mr. Wilson.

FWIW, yours truly is on the January 8th issue of Coin World.

Me too. I want to get Aki's name on the ANA dog run and I think Cliff can help me get it done at the right price if he's on the inside.
