8R Questions asked and answered

I thought it might be of interest here...

<< Hello Ron:

Thanks for taking time to answer questions... are die varieties recognized by PCGS such as overdates (1833 3/2) or initials such as FT T/M or inverted initials on PCGS Slabs for Mexican 8 Reales?

One other related question... would an 8R that is a broad struck error be graded as such?

Thanks for the thoughts and enjoy thr Holidays... >>

Yes, we'll recognize die varieties on world coins if they are listed in Krause or if we catch them upon examination of the coins. However, if it's an obscure variety or one which is difficult to discern, we default to the "normal" date.

We will grade a broad struck world coin under our Mint Error service.

Best wishes for the New Year!
