How many of the 2006 SAE Anniversary Sets will be Certified ?

Out of the 250,000 sets how many do you think will be certified by PCGS and NGC.

  • The 20th anniversary label is only for sets submitted unopened from now on. So I guess the question is how many people are still sitting on unopened deliveries.
I personally ordered 10 sets in 3 separate orders so I could put aside one box and leave it unopened. I might submit them or I might just sit on them for a few years. I guess it will depend on how the 20th anniversary label sells in the future.

I got two (2) that came last week and they are better than the
First Strike ones I got in October. So, I will send them in and there
will be two more graded. image
  • none for me, they look to good to be entombed in someone's plastic
  • I think the reverse proof can always get the 20th anniversary label because it is the only coin in the set that was not released separately.
The reverse proof is the key coin (250k), the uncirculated w mint mark is a lower than usual mintage for a non proof ASE(around 500k in all). The proof coin is the run of the mill coin of the set.
Geting it slabbed 20th anniversary may help it's value but it really is just the same old proof as usual.
Basically the more reverse proofs that get bought /hoarded individually will help bump up the value of a 20th anniversary label PF in the long run.
