And please, someone, complain about how horrible Levi's prices are from 707 Sportcards...despite the fact that he will sell well into the five figures over the next week.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    Okay, I'll go first. image

Here is my search for '55 all americans.
    my psa search

Check out the link. Last night when I looked, there were 12 auctions going. Now there are three times that many, all listed with a Buy It Now that is quite higher than most would go in an auction. If you ask me, that's a lot of time and still a lot of money hoping that a sucker comes along. Check out the shipping costs, too, $10.01 per card!! What a Deal!!

Certainly not trying to single this seller out, there are a lot of people who will try to "take advantage" of the listing day, there always are.

    Okay, I'm done. Thanks

LOL, hey I said I wasn't singling anyone out. I picked this one because I've bought here before with great luck. But it does illustrate the bombardment of items that clutter up the boards at prices that average Joe aren't going to pay.

Why complain? Why not use it as a chance to look at some great vintage cards?

    707 Sportscards

This card is at the top of my "someday" list. I think it's just about a perfect baseball card.

  • I can't believe that is a PSA 6 !! Corners look to worn for a PSA 6. I have had 4's that look better

  • There is definately foolishness on discount day but it does give me a chance to unload a bunch of cheap junk that ordinarily wouldn't be worth chancing the 35 cent listing fee. This also gives sellers a chance to feel the market on items seldom seen or sold. I know I have a handful of cards in my personal collection I'll list this evening with higher but not unreasonable BIN prices to see if somebody wants the cards more than I do. There will always be some guy listing a "Rare" "Gem Mint" 2006 Topps Mantle reprint for $2000 but for every one of those listings you get many more overpriced beauties to at least look at.

Will Levi actually sell any cards from this? Does anyone really know? If you want to overpay for some of his cards, why this week? You can step up to the plate and fork over 200% of SMR for his inventory 365 days a year.

I hate this day - and Ebay actually loses my business both today, and a week from when it ends. I realize that means little to them, as I'm sure the 707's of the world make up for it, but I'd bet I'm not alone in holding off listings this week. Plus, fishing for suckers is not really my thing. I'd prefer to deal honestly with buyers and encourage repeat business from them.

You can check his completed listings easily. The last two times he listed his inventory he sold over $300K. It's probably worth his time.

how about this 15 cent listing? trying to almost double their money in a couple weeks.

i put my offer at one penny less than they paid (before 20% juice and shipping) i was wondering it that card would get an o/c if you crossed it over. i do think it would be an NQ.

Today Ebay 15 cent special listing
  • Yeah its a pain to sift thru the junk but there is a few comical ones in there. As a buyer more than a seller I like the bargains as many listings seem to get lost in the flood esp. since most are broke now. I also get to see some overpriced high dollar cards I normally dont see.

i don't think dsl uses the 15 cent clean out the closet, jack up the price and clutter up ebay method.

I was waiting for this I have 25 PSA 9 59 fleers going up later and this will save me about $75 bucks. I think I sold 3 items for $5000 last time they did this that I would not have spent the money to relist. also, using it to put some more obscure collectibles up that I would not risk with low starting bids. althought the wheat's and levi's are at one extreme with 20000 listings each , I think it is good for the little guys as well and brings tons of stuff out for the buyer to find who can always negotiate with the seller if you do not like the prices

Is this a "slider"? (i.e., L/R centering?) image

  • i collect some rare stuff that doesn't have a lot of competition. It's not too pricey, but a lot of sellers don't want to lose their shirts so they only list on cheap listing days and set the min bid at the lowest they're willing to accept.

    I love cheap listing day.
    Currently Buying:
2004 Tommie Harris SPX Printing Plate (White Whale will pay top $$$)
1994 SP Football Die Cuts PSA 10s
  • I agree about that Ruth. I too have had better fours, both technically and aesthetically. Yeah, I like my 6's with dirty borders, worn corners, and a dog ear on one of the corners.

I don't know, I may be in the minority but I like the discount listing days....gives me chance to list items, save a little money and hopefully pick up a few cards I need. I just listed a 1972 PSA 9 Topps Pete Rose in action card. I was able to list it with a high opening bid which saved me lots of $$$$. I'm not one of the big time dealers that lists several thousand items so I see it as a chance to save.

    only my opinion....al.
