The US Mint / FedEx has LOST my 1 OZ Platinum Coins!!!!!!

Package was SUPPOSED to be shipped 12/25/06,,,,,,, yea on Christmas. The FedEx link actually showed as shipped 12/22/06. Was supposed to be delivered 12/26/06. When it never showed I called FedEx. They say package was never shipped only electronic pick-up order received. I call The Mint and they say it was shipped.

The FedEx site shows nothing now on my tracking number other than order for pick-up.

The sky is not falling. Be patient. Have you checked the fedex tracking info online recently? My gold sets were supposed to be delivered yesterday but didn't leave Memphis until last night. Looks like they're in SD today--a day late. There was a holiday this week, IIRC. The other day half my order was shown as coming to my house and the other half still in memphis. I called fedex and their best guess was that half of it missed the plane. Two hours later the entire order showed up. All this computerized tracking isn't perfect yet. The boxes don't really tell the truck that it made a wrong turn.

I was in that boat yesterday and got the standard message from the Mint of having to wait 30 days before doing anything.

Just like you, the shipping label was printed on the 22nd ("Package data transmitted to FedEx"). The mint website said that they shipped on the 25th. I called FedEx and they said that they never got the order from the sender. I called the mint and they said that it was supposed to have shipped but it looks like the warehouse was understaffed and didn't get it out and that I should wait 30 days.

I checked today, and the package was out for delivery!
Looks like because of Xmas, the delivery was off by 1 day

Yes, I checked today and just says data transmitted. maybe it will straighten itself out. I sure ain't gettin nowhere on the phone with the Mint or FedEx

Same here. I'm just waiting FedEX took 5 days on an overnight package the last time I paid 22 bucks for.

Everyone is getting upset over nothing. Both my W platinum and gold orders showed shipped on Christmas on the Mint site and only information submitted on FedEx's yesterday. Today my platinums show as being at the sort facilties in San Diego and nothing on the gold coins. I expect the gold ones will turn up here tomottow.

You are probably right BUT when you call The Mint Customer Service they SHOULD be able to tell you more than just "wait 30 days and file a NON-RECEIPT" Form

They did EXACTLY the same thing on my (10) 1 .oz that arrived this morning in 10 separate cartons.

BTW, what a colossal waste of money to send all 10 separately!

As I placed the orders in a stack by time and order numbers, all ten processed within two minutes of one another.

Data was sent to fedex on 12/22 and as of today (12/27) the packages have not been recieved by them.

The thing that has me a little worried is that my credit cards have not been charged. I called the mint, customer service rep said everything is okay.

I guess all we can do is wait. Good Luck to everybody else.

The fact that this is happening so much indicates to me that it's a case of After Christmas vs. Backlogged FedEx.

I'm sure it will work it's way out in a day or two.

You guys think you have a tough wait?? I am military, stationed aboard a forward deployed (overseas) ship. Although my shipping address is a USA address (FPO AE), all expensive items are shipped to me registered. I am still waiting for my 10 ASE sets (shipped Nov 18th), 3 platinums sets and 5 gold sets. All shipped registered, all take lots of time to get here. I wish I had your waiting problems :-). Happy New Year all.

we print Fedex airbills in my business before the shipment leaves all the time. What they have done is made the airbill for shipping. Once it is picked up by Fedex it will show tracking info.

I bet they printed the labels, packaged them up and waiting to be picked up by Fedex.

Order # 23657pqr for 3 ASE sets says 12/25 data transmitted to FEDEX and shipped 12/27. A check of the tracking number says its on a local truck but they are now here in my living room. I expect the driver will download and update the delivery info when he gets back to the terminal. Sheesh I wonder how much they make at $4 shipping.

Most of these actually shipped the 26th and should be delivered today. You tracking number should show that the coins are now in transit and I suspect a lot of attempted deliveries have occurred.

Same boat for me except mine is on two seprate ASE sets. Shipped 12/25 and FedEX tracking shows nothing except my bank account shows -104.00 X 2. I am pissed at them again!

For the record, when you call the mint, the person at the other end looks at the same page you look at on line and tells you the same info you already know.

When you call Fedex, they look on line and look at the same thing you can look at online... Calling is useless unless you make them research, this is like pulling teeth from a newborn... almost impossible...

This is what happened to mine:

I ordered...

The Mint made my item (Sounds odd)... Told me the item is reserved and in stock...

The Mint packaged and sent info to Fedex for a pick up... Told me the package was delivered...

At this point, anyone you get at the mint will tell you your package was delivered...

Fedex has yet to pick up, yet they have the "It's ready for pickup" message.

Fedex then picks up items in their schedule and adjusts the pickup/delivery time on their site...

All packages are tracked/shipped/delivered via their system which has onboard cell phone like trackers, they usually are a few hours behind though...

My last order landed like this:

I looked on line at the mint: It said, package has been delivered.... three hours later it was on my doorstep.

When I checked the Fedex site... three hours after my package arrived, it said the package was delivered...

10 hours after the package was delivered the mint site said the package was delivered...

The point is, there are so many moving pieces the system has lag time... Patience is a virtue in this business...

I hope this is all understandable.

Guess what folks it works the same for all the shipping companys....USPS.....UPS......FEDEX......DHL.....

I see it all the time...I sell 200 items a week on ebay and we ship them world wide....Christmas time is horrible....

I had the same issues with a few plats and gold unc W's, but I didn't cry like a baby and blame, blame, blame. The weather in Colorado last week had a ripple effect throughout the system. I know, I flew all last week and nothing went scheduled. We were scrambling to pick up freight everywhere. Fog in San Francisco, Oakland, and Michiana to name a few. It was also Christmas week. FedEx had a record 9.8 million packages last Monday. They can't buy enough airplanes and train flight crew, maintenence, handlers, rampers, loaders and drivers fast enough. Be patient, stop whinning...so your #@*^ gets on ebay a couple of days later. Just kick back and point and click.
