By definition, how can this be a 67?

If we read the given definitions of each grade as provided by "the House", how then can this be a PCGS 67? Really!? imageimage

You can't judge the technical attributes of the coin from the images but the toning on the reverse looks rather attractive.

The only way it could be a "67" is if it was a 1967!

That's a coin I would personally pass on. I'm not a fan of huge distractions on supposed superb gem coinage, and fingerprints turn my stomach. It might be very nice otherwise, but not for me.

Finger prints don't bother me. Especially when its on an originally toned coin like this one. I think it adds to the history of the coin.

From what I see in the images, I have no problem with this one being in a 7 holder. Would like to see it in person though...

This is a coin that I would have a very hard time accepting as MS67 because I believe the eye appeal is significantly compromised.

Most likely, not bag toning, rather, from a mint set.

If you aquire a taste for coins from the Treasury Mint Sets (1947-1958), you learn to live with fingerprints, as they were assembled with bare hands.

I suspect the coin looks better in-hand than you might expect. Still, I can't see it going 67. Just my opinion.

Someone will pick it up on the cheap because it's not eye appealing. They'll crack it, dip it, resubmit it and sell it for a nice profit.

    PCGS definition of ms67:

    MS-67
This is for "Mint State" (the grade) and "67" (the numerical designation of that grade). A superb-quality coin! Any abrasions are extremely light and do not detract from the coin’s beauty in any way. The strike is extremely sharp (or full) and the luster is outstanding. This is a spectacular coin!
