South Dakota Quarters...half a roll and already found a dozen problem coins

Picked up a $500 box and haven't even made it through one roll yet and already have a dozen coins with different breaks and other problems....Is this normal for the P mint coins?

Die breaks are very common for both the Denver and Philadelphia minted quarters. One of the most common breaks is along the lower part of Washington's bust.

I have found several of those...Also a few on the breaks/cracks on reverse, one from rim through P, running above date up to Mount Rushmore....another from rim through A extending into field, quite a few with what look like planchet problems ( lamination or grease)?.....and another with large bumps/dots on bust and on eagle...

The nicest one I pulled from a roll I broke -- a lustrous gem no-question 65, which I find is a fairly difficult thing to find generally speaking -- has a crack splitting the last 'A' in 'SOUTH DAKOTA' right down the middle from the rim into the field to the right of the pheasant, and a big Frankenstein scar running from the high point of Washington's eyebrow halfway up to his temple.

I really hope someone comes along and does a book on all the die varieties of these someday, since I have saved so many weird ones over the last few years.
