Die Breaks on 1856 Seated Quarter.....It's in an odd spot

Is there any reference material for Seated Quarter varieties? This coin has a pretty interesting die break across Liberty's lap..There are actually two breaks connected by a die crack.

It's not listed in Briggs, who notes that there were 72 dies prepared in this year. No doubt there are quite a few varieties such as this. Good pics!
  • Interesting.
I haven't seen this, but as Coinosaurus says, this is a very high mintage year and it's there where new finds will be made.
This falls more into the die state area rather than a variety, in my opinion.
Concerning the 1856 Philadelphia Seated Quarters, I believe the variety with the flag of the 1 in the gown to be the rarest, and the next rarest to be the one with the flag of the 5 in the shield.
