  • I think ebay has recently installed some software to track IP addresses in an attempt to combat shill bidding. I believe this because I too got the boot, I know several sellers that are in the same situation.....and when I call ebay about it on the gold power seller hot line....they can not give me a straight answer.....as to why or how go get my name reinstaated.....There advise was to start a new ID, so much for the 10,000+ positive feedbacks I had.....

Just to clarify, I think you're responding to another post. Marty wasn't accused of shilling.
  • i believe the MadMan had a thread where he explained why he was booted temporarily from Fleabay.
  • If I remember right (and maybe I don't) his wife accidentally bid on something he was selling (from the same computer). It's happened to me before where family members bid on something I've got either because they don't know it's me, or they *do* know it's me and they want to help (without realizing the problem).
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

Nope, it was a buddy who Marty let use his laptop to make a bid on one of Marty's auctions. A technical foopah but definitely not an ethical one.

As far as selling the item off of eBay, I see no reason why you cannot end an auction for whatever reason and just sell your stuff.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
