Most surprising (Good) NFL team this season

I would say the Jets.

Honorable mention:

Titans
49ers - won't make the playoffs but they really improved from last year.

Good grief, how could I forget the Saints?
  • I'd have to agree with you, particularly on the Jets. We were debating here months ago whether they would win 4 games or not.

    Here's my list:

    New Orleans
    Philadelphia (since McNabb went out)
    Buffalo
New England (considering they have NOTHING at WR this year)
    Baltimore
    NY Jets
    Tennessee
    San Francisco
Green Bay (not much talent on the team)
San Diego (a rookie QB, in essence)

New Orleans and Tennessee seem on their way to turning their franchises in the right direction, although they are out of the playoffs Vince Young might have saved Jeff Fishers job.

New Orleans is the easy choice,
but don't forget that most 'experts' figured Baltimore would be a .500 team at best.

I am not a Titans fan. However, in defense of Titan fans everywhere, they are not out of the playoffs. They need some help come Sunday, but they can still get in. Tennesee gets in with a win and a Cincinnati loss or tie and a Denver loss and a Kansas City win.

I honestly expected something good from these teams (Saints and Ravens), especially considering both upgraded considerably at QB. I thought the Jets would compete with the Lions for the worst record, more so after the loss of Martin. They have certainly righted their ship for now, just as long as Pennington stays healthy.

I also must admit that Philly has surprised me quite a bit, mainly because of the play from Garcia. This guy has sucked donkey balls since leaving SF, but has been solid with the Eagles. I really don't think anybody expected anything like this when McNabb went down as most sane people would obviously see Garcia as a downgrade for them.

    Titans...

They look like a whole different team from past years (or for that matter, from the beginning of the season)

A lot of good choices - I am most impressed with the Titans, Ravens, and Saints. The Patriots deserve mention as well as the Jets, but those first three teams were all expected to go nowhere this season, and they all have surpassed expectations.
