Obligation
Is one obligated to combine shipping charges? I have a some items that will ship in two boxes ( two separate auctions ) that were held three day's apart. Am I obligated to do this? ethics?

I think if you can combine shipping, you should.
If, for some reason, you have to send two
separate shipments, I don't think you should
have to eat the extra postage, but I would
explain to the buyer why you're having to
double the shipping charge.
I don't really understand the details in your
case well enough to give more of an opinion
than that.

auctions into one shipping. The winner wanted them
shipped separately in case they might get lost! Oh my!
My winner won in the same 30 minutes. They have got
to ask to combine shipping in my opinion. Now I e-mail
how they want shipped, solves the problems.

Was it asked prior to close?
Do you have a disclaimer about it (timing or anything?)? Some people state "closing within 24 hours of each other"
Are you losing money on shipping? Very often, I lose a little on shipping (sold $2000 coin and charged $9.99 and sent registered and cost just over $14 plus materials (minor cost)).
If you can do it in 1 package, for less than 2, then do it and combine. If you have to use 2, and can do it for less than your auction shipping price for both, it's cool to cut a deal. If you can't because one already shipped out or it will cost more than what you charge, then do the stated shipping charges.
Common sense, and treating someone as you would expect to be treated, is what I use as a guideline.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
