Well, really it was Ebay, but let's go with Santa, shall we?

I won the 2 coins below a week apart. Haven't received them yet, but I'm looking forward to them.

Krause doesn't list proofs for these denominations and dates, so are they really proofs or just early strikes (specimen/presentation strikes maybe)? Regardless of what they are, they looked neat.

Yeah, but these would have been real "First Strikes", not a bogus marketing term made up solely to make money from the unwary...

Well, as it turns out, Santa was a big ole' grinch after all. I received the first coin today. There are no mirrors to the fields, nor are there the chiseled features one would expect from a proof. Also, comparing the piece with other pictures of UNCs I see online, I can find no differences.

I think that PCGS just didn't have enough information and took the submittor's word for it that it was a proof.

It's a shame.
