Just because someone takes exception isn't a reason to ban.... My understanding is that you can be banned for saying untrue, inflamatory comments that are an attack on board members/PSA employees or PSA itself. What was said was hardly inflamatory and was only an observation.
What is this, Soviet Russia back in the 1930's? Was NJMH sent to the Gulag?

This is a privately owned board and the company can do whatever they want. It does seem senseless as much worse has been said about the company and about other members that was left unpunished. But hey, when you’re on a board owned by someone or some company, you are at their mercy on the privilege to be a member there.

own - and pay for - the boards. Folks who want a
different set of policies can very easily open their own

I don't know that this is always the case, as I've had creased and stained cards awarded 10s, and many seemingly perfect cards given the ever-popular NM-MT 8 designation (modern, of course).
So whether or not PSA states that two, three, or twenty graders inspect your gems, I believe - at times - it's highly unlikely.

This is what he said - I can see them viewing this as defamatory.
The boards were warned about making unsubstantiated or spurious disparaging remarks againt CU.
I'm affraid remarks made in the past as opposed to those today or in the future will be held to a different standard of tolerance.
Moreover, as was said, we're guests here and the 1st amendment does not apply.
I - personally - am of the belief that NJ was just exaggerating - perhaps in making a point.
I hope he's granted a second chance.

I never knew RichG got the boot. I thought he self-exiled.
He is on EBAY's PowerSeller board from time to time. Last time
I looked, he was at about 2000 FB and 100%. (The PS board
is mostly fairly-civil and I never noticed RG getting into "discussions"
like he did here.)

Not meaning to argue, and I really have no clue about anything, but...
A paid member is hardly a guest, and if it wasn't for paid members and PSA supporters who frequent this BB, there would be no PSA.
We're the reason for this BB, without us this whole place is just ones and zeros, how about a little respect.
And if we can't complain, things will always be the same, and that's good but it could be better.

The board is free and one does not have to be a member to post here. While in the past there has been more leniency in what has been posted, the times have changed, and unfortunately not because of our doing. The guys over at the PCGS board have been creating a huge stir in the past couple months. I think much of their dismay started in the closing of the Open Forum, but nonetheless, many have voiced slanderous remarks against PCGS and Collectors Universe in general(which PSA is a part of).
The business was around long before this board, and I have a feeling it will be around long after this board closes. While I agree that it is good for their business, it is not MY business. They can do with it and us as they choose and we can either abide, leave or be forced to leave. I like it here and I hope that they don't close the doors anytime soon, but if they do it's their prerogative.
But honestly, if you have a gripe call into customer service and wage your complaint. As a customer, your complaint will surely be taken more seriously than an anonymous person on a message board.

If CU had to rely on the sundry board populations to feed the CLCT
critter, there would be no CLCT. If there was no PSA board, I would
not learn as much as I do, but I would still buy the PSA membership
because I need/want it. The boards are nice, but I am pretty sure
that CLCT does not define them as a profit-center.
To perfect their theory of board decorum, CU might just strike the
BBs as a "membership benefit." Even without that deletion, CU
still has the absolute right to decide what gets put on the boards
and who gets to put it there.
Members can complain ALL DAY to PSA. They just cannot over-complain
on the CU boards. PSA answers the phone when people call to complain
about whatever they want to complain about. There is a BIG difference
between a customer complaint made through the established protocol,
and what PSA may perceive as gratuitous-bashing based solely on a
member's misinterpretation of circumstances.
NJMH is a good contributor, and I hope things work out well. Raising
heck about it will not make things work out well.

if would also hope his banning was a cumulative process, not solely based on 1 thread that really, honestly didn't seem that offensive. i am sure he had no intention of getting booted by posting about psa 10 quality cards.
whatever, but i certainly hope there is/are/were communications to him from whoever pulled the plug letting him know what he did and why it was wrong.

That is the info I got from reading threads, if I remember correctly he admitted to being banned from Becketts boards as well.
Does anyone know if NJMH has been in contact with CU since he was booted?
