Ball hits referee in the head in Jags-Pats game

Hit by a pass right below the ear and knocked him to the ground. That had to really hurt but he seemed to recover OK and
walked off the field. Should the refs wear helmets?

    That was nasty ! Garrard threw a seed and knocked him down, that could have been ugly had it hit him square in the face....nasty. The guy is watching the line and had no clue it was coming.

    I don't know about helmets but I think the refs SHOULD wear glasses!

    You've got to be kidding me. >>




    Why do the players wear helmets? The refs are not supposed to be part of the action but as was seen in this situation stuff happens.
