Will the US Mint continue to sell 2006 proof platinums into 2007??

I kind of like the deisgn and was just wondering if sales will end at the end of this year, or go into next until they sell out??

I think they will continue, its all going to depend on how much money they made off of them.

I'm pretty sure they will. A couple times they have sold the same product for several years (1999 Susan B. Anthony Proof) until they finally sold out of them.

They will usually see the Platinum Proofs until they sell out of the 2007's come out.

They strke a certain amount of these based on projected sales. As long as they have inventory, they will sell them right up to the point when they release the 2007. If it gets near the release date of the 2007, the chances are that they will not strike additional 2006 coins. At this point, i would say that what they have in inventoruy is all that is available and when its gone, its gone for good. Buy now, buy strong, if you like them. Buy only for your enjoyment and as gifts for friends. If you collect because you love coins, you'll be happy. If you are chasing the profit, 9 times out of 10 you will be disappointed.

They've already sold too many of these IMO and with the UNC's coming out it will take the steam out of em for this year. Now 2007 maybe a good year for the proofs with everyone wanting the UNC W's since 2006 was so good.

If they still have unsold inventory dated 2006, they will continue to sell those until they sell out. Look at the 2005 Silver proof sets. Last I saw, they were still selling those, and presumably will be until their unsold inventory is all moved out.
