Overheard at the coin shop this afternoon...

Young lady: Hi, Id like to buy an MS-63 for my father.

The gentleman behind the counter: well, that's a grade of a coin and not a coin, do you know what type of coin he collects?

Young lady: No, but I overheard him say he wants an MS 63.

I felt bad for her image I walked out before the conversation progressed further....

maybe she'll wind up with a gift certificate of some sort...

If her dad could read this post, he would receive the greatest gift. Her thought is priceless.

Yes, very nice thought. I hope she did not actually buy a coin unless they finally figured out what he collects. I hope the coin dealer strongly recommended she find out more information before buying anything. Or, he could sell her a gift certificate.
  • Don't you think that he would be pleased with any coin she gets him? I mean after all it is a gift!

He should have sold her a nice slabbed Morgan dollar with the understanding that it could be returned for a full refund or full credit toward another purchase. At least she would have something to wrap and put under the tree and her dad would have something to unwrap on Christmas.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
