Mine just sold for 207 plus shipping. Buy it now right below it for $190. No pattern some going 240 some 175 for the same exact auction I opened mine took a look and was not impressed with the coins so put a 1 day auction and doubled my money
I sold my ASE sets a couple of weeks back for $180 each on BST. At that time the lowest BIN was $185, so it isn't exactly a big price move either way during the past few weeks.
I would make a point that just because someone opened a mint box does NOT equate to "rejected sets" by a longshot IMO.
Example:
I had some boxes delivered to my dads house with clear instructions not to open them when they arrived. Well sure enough, he mistakenly opened the 1st box of 3 sets that arrived thinking it was something else he mail ordered.
I haven't even seen them or been to his house since they arrived and offered them for sale at a good price here with no takers so far. If someone took them, they would be getting 100% unsearched and untouched sets where a disinterested 3rd party accidently opened the outer box.
To follow up on what Dragon said, I have neither the time nor the interest nor the money to try and play the plastic slab game. I routinely open boxes, check the items in, and sell them, without even looking at a single one. I'm convinced that I'm not the only one who does that, either.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."
I hear what you're saying dragin and ddink but in this day and age of "scoundrels" it's hard to "trust" ppl. I know ppl on this board would not intentionally rip ppl off but a lot of ebay sellers do. I think we have to be cautious. It's the only way a savvy buyer can be. It's in pretty much anything we buy...
Dragon, Same experience here. My Dad ordered 10. I said don't open the box... it will be from fullfillment center in TN. Well he opened the box. My brother, same thing. They thought there was another sealed box inside. I think I will help my Dad sell his using my e-bay account and he ships them (I live in Europe, he in the US). These will be entirely unpicked.
Geez guys and gals ebay is not the measure and be all and end all for prices. My local coin dealer had 10 sets a week ago at $249.00 each, yes already opened, and they are gone...poof. The next will be at $279 and he has buys for 5 of these already.
These long term will be just great. Just like the folks selling off the plats to soon I think, they are not going to realize the potential until much later.

Nice to hear the 'Mom and Pop' coin shops are beating out the "Big Box" Numismatic Online Auctions, for now anyway..
I got an unopened box of 10 last night for $2175 which I thought was a deal. Kinda weird that I probably will have to wait well over a month to see them. (after they're graded)
I received one set in time to achieve the "FS" status. The coins were MS 69/PR68/RV68. They have heavy die striations on them. I ordered two more sets and received them two days ago. Beautiful sets absolutely beautiful no striation on any could poss/probable come back 70s sans the FS designation. Anyone buying these coins now, IN MY OPINION, might be getting the better of the deal. If flipping is your game well then have fun, but my OPINION is the better coins are coming in these sets. Which other board members have pointed out to me;'who knows what coins were FS with this kind of coin qualtity received this late.' Regards, Michael

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Better to walk out of the store with the goods in hand rather than roll the dice on eBay and maybe get someone's junk set.
Yes ebay is real slow. I just won a NGC 1st Strike Buffalo MS70 for 648.00 and 5 $5 1/10 ouc gold at 64.50 each (breakdown) plus 8.00 shipping. Time to bid is NOW! Time to sell is NOT NOW!

Its easy to break out the 68s and place them
back into their capsules. A bargain is not necessarily
a bargain.

Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.
Hold onto them, if you can.
You'll be glad you did...
