Favorite Ebay Sellers

Just curious as to who you think the best ebay sellers are for vintage graded cards, factoring in quick shipping and customer service? Mine would have to be 4sharpcorners..........

I am glad to hear that about 4 Sharp Corners. I just won 3 auctions from them yesterday.

4SC catches a lot of grief around here, but all of my dealings with their various facets have been solidly positive.

  • 4SC and DSLsports have a large supply of many different years all the time and it's constantly changing. Excellent prices also.

I've bought tons of stuff from both of them and it has always been a pleasure.

  • They always deliver on time, they insure each card, they answer questions on the auctions. I just had to mention them and hear other peoples views on who they think is a great seller........

I also can endorse omegalm1 on eBay. My recent purchases of the '67 Gibson and Drysdale 8's were from him. He packages well and he's very open and communicative.

I haven't won anything from them on eBay, but Larry Mayer and Mickey's Sportscards are also top notch professionals.
  • omegalm is great......... I have bought a few items off of Naxcom from him as well as doing some trading.....

Buy some stuff from his 'raw card' ID, newenglandsportscards, and you'll probably have to rethink that position.
  • Have not bought raw from him. Did you have a bad experience?

Buy raw cards from just about anyone on ebay and youll more than likely find similar results.

For all the grief 4SC receives on here, from myself included on occasion when I mention their lack of combined shipping across ID's,to their generous grades, they have definately helped me with set after set. Without their mass submissions I wouldnt be nearly as close to finishing several of my sets.

It'd be impossible for a seller like 4SC to deal with the volume that they do and not have a few complaints (the refusal to combine shipping across different seller IDs is probably the most common complaint), but there is no question in my mind that they are as fast and as efficient and as reasonable as any seller out there for PSA graded cards.

  • I buy only McGwires, but my favorites, in no particular order: 4 sharp corners, simsclassicsports, duke4life (priced a little high, just seems to be a month or 2 behind on the cards he grades, they have been on ebay a couple times before in PSA 10), sportscards-and-supplies, strictly-psagems, and psa_registry_gems. My #2 used to be DSL, but I had them not send me a 6 card lot of PSA 10 McGwires, with no refund given or emails returned. That was my only bad experience with them though out of around 20, and they havent posted any Mcgwires in a long time. Eaglescards was my #1, but I think he's out of the business now.

I don't know if they're the "best", but I end up buying a high percentage of my cards from 4SC et al and have never had a bad experience with them. I've been buying from Duke4life lately and haven't had any problems . . . except shipping times are drastically longer than most other sellers I buy from.

It seems to me like I get the best service, shipping, and price from people that participate in this forum and the set registry . . . probably because they understand how nice it is to receive cards well packaged and timely.

4SC is OK, but not top notch.

They will deliver the items you pay for--no scams in that sense. However, be open to getting banged up and scratched PSA holders--I am talking about the type that novus will not help. They won't give a partial refund to compensate for the reholdering. This is very annoying. I am sure if people were offered a choice between a clean holder or one with scratches, people will choose the clean one.

The not combining shipping across all 4 IDs is a major complaint, but they state in their auction that they do not do this. I have no problem with people being upfront. If they would just add a statement that all their holders are subject to being scuffed so bid accordingly would be even better.

4SC is fantastic. I too recommend duke4life, omegalm, and simsclassicsports. I also recommend fsmith68, joesvintagesportscards, bbcexchange, and earhart47, right off the top of my head.

Hard to pinpoint the best dealers, off the top of my head with comments:

Steve Hart at BBcexchange, along with Mike who does a lot of his ebay work. Always a flawless deal with high end stuff. Fair shipping when combining wins. The BEST!

Frank Evanov....Tigie, purchased a few cards from and they've been nice!

Art Miller.... great to deal with and a hell of a nice guy.

DSLS.... an occasional slider here and there but typically solid graded cards and quick shipping. My only real complaint is they don't take paypal but that's a minor issue with me.

Will Hays.... sandiegowill, expert packaging, accurate descriptions, great variety of products. Shipping is a little slow but I think it's more of a USPS issue.

4 sharp corners....... have received very sharp 8's and 9's and also some weak 8's too, very fast shipper and always posts feedback. Would like to see them combine shipping across their ebay id's too.

Game Time Collectibles..... outstanding quality cards, very fair shipping, but plays the feedback hostage game and ships very slow. The last three transactions took nearly 3 weeks to receive each time after my paypal payment and they're in the state next door. However the quality is there and I'll buy from again.

Jeff at .......Itzagoner....... outstanding in all respects. Might have the best packaging in the world. Call him Mr. Vending. Razor sharp cards.

Omegalm ....... Dave Kjeer..... Always a perfect transaction and a nice guy to boot. Excellent customer service.

I may add to this list later as I'm sure there's many others who could make the list.
For the most part most ebay sellers have been pretty good to deal with from my perspective. Maybe I've been lucky or my expectation level is lower.

Anyone want to start a bad ebay sellers list?? Or is that too long?

Just got this email from a seller:

Hello. There seems to have been a mixup on this order - I overnighted the cards.

Thank you for your patience. Please accept a $15 credit toward my future auctions.

    Sincerely,

    David hobson

Nice gester on the credit towards a future purchase but this is
the third time in a row there's been a problem with timely shipping.

First time there was an illness in the family. I can understand that. That item was paid for via paypal on 8/26, post marked 9/12, received on 9/15. Not that big of a deal.

The next purchase was paypaled on 11/18, postmarked on 12/5, received on 12/8. This time there was a death of a well known priest used as an excuse for late shipping (not kidding).

Then on Dec. 2nd I won yet another item from this seller. I thought, screw him, I'm going to wait until my other item that I won and paid for on 11/18 arrives before sending him payment for this purchase. So I waited a few days. The guy had the balls to send me a payment reminder notice thru ebay for not receiving payment after only three days! Unreal, so I emailed him and told him I'm still waiting on my last purchase to arrive before sending payment for this purchase. That's when I get the 'there was a death of a well known priest' for lateness of mailing excuse.

And today the above excuse. That item paypaled for on 12/11. Not received yet as of 12/23.

To me, I don't really mind slow shipping. But three times in a row
there's been some issue with this seller with a reasonable shipping time frame.
I don't expect items to arrive in 2-3 days after I pay for them, but I certainly think it's reasonable to expect the item within 10 days of a paypal payment.

creamofcards,bwcards,quest_the_dog, 4SC,DSL. Amazes me sometimes how i can get a package from overseas so fast compared to people i deal with within the U.S.
  • I would say 4 sharp corners and simsclassicsports. I have been pretty much only playing around with modern PSA's, and these guys are great and listing volume at great price. I prefer to be able to combine shipping on 5-10 cards.

Almost have my first PSA set complete but don't laugh, or at least not too hard, it's 2000 Collectors Edge Uncirculated.

    Merry Christmas to all!

Thought of a few other 'good dealers' :

    Simsclassics ...as others have mentioned

Vic Stanley.... always excellent in all respects. Great for vintage Football cards.

Nearmint...... another top notch vintage Football seller and buyer.
    Great website too!

Robecsportscards.... I hope I spelled that correctly. Rob has always offered some sharp vintage material on ebay over the years.

Louis Bollman .... excellent dealer in vintage cards.

Paul Stark...... might be the nicest national dealer out there.

Crashtestalex...... Lee is another fine seller of vintage cards.

Denver724 ........ great cards, my only complaint is he doesn't leave feedback for buyers first.

Kyshasports ..... great buyer, seller, and advanced collector.

Markirodenko ........ very fair shipping rates and pretty nice raw cards.

Milehighcards ...one of the best National dealers there is.

Goodwin and Co. ....... always excellent.

    Jasp24 ...... Football card mastermind.

rchiaro ........ great variety of sports cards.

    carrollstreetkid ......... unique items.

Mintstate ...... great vintage card seller and buyer.

thefootballcardstore ..... the name says it all. FOOTBALL!

mkwsportscards ....... comes up with some amazing 9's and 10's.

wolfbear ........ one of my favorite ebay names and one of the best posters on this board.

theninthinning ..... Bob is always great to talk with at the card shows. Quality vintage cards.

I'm sure there's many others I haven't mentioned here. I've dealt with all of the above sellers and every transaction went smoothly and without problems.

Again, these were mostly vintage card sellers.

    Regards,
    Rich

I don't think anyone has mentioned Greg, from Cameo Cards. A good seller and occasional poster here.
