Gotta admire a 5 foot 2 inch tall wimp that can make a career out of pretending to be a boxer ...
"How about a little fire Scarecrow ?"
But, I have to say, this one was pretty good. Of course, you have to almost suspend disbelief that he could be in the ring with Antonio Tarver and not get dismantled, but who cares? The story was good, though there was probably less focus on actual boxing and training this time, and more focus on where his mind is at his current age. I'd say it's worth seeing.

<< <i>There is a Rocky 6 ? >>
Yes, it is called ROCKY BALBOA

I really do believe this is definately a slice of American culture. The movie was also at times shaped by the current historical era like the cold war....what a message that was!
Love it or hate it, but the Rocky movies capture that American drive of hard work leading to success, of being the underdog and overcoming many obstacles.
Sure the movies had that nice action packed fight scene building up in every movie, but the back drop was filled with several subplots, some with deep meanings. We have seen the evolution of Rocky from a young unknow boxer to being given an opportunity to shine under a mentor who focused on the strength of heart. It was that heart that brought Rocky his success reaching a pinnacle of fame and fortune only to have it gradually stripped away by unscrupulous accountants. Poor and broken, Rocky retreated back to his roots only to be challenged yet again from individuals (Tommy Gunn and the promotor) who represented everything wrong with America--greed for money and fame. Rocky exhibited loyalty to the family and backed his brother-in-law when they pushed him down because they could not get Rocky to commit to one last fight (one last big money draw). True American values prevailed over the greed and money driven mentality that continues to engulf our society. I have not seen this movie "Rocky Balboa" yet, but it sounds to me that they do have a fight scene, but more attention is given to other subplots like the son trying to get away from his father's shadow, or an aged fighter coming to terms with the different phase of life he has ahead of him, etc.
These Rocky movies capture and continue to capture that American identity that was embraced by the world yet has been drowned with the imperialist wave of post-911 sentiments.
Another Rocky movie is in order. I am glad it is out! Out of all possible movie lines from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s, Rocky and Sylvester Stallone fared the best in my opinion. I was hoping the Superman series of Christopher Reeve would reach the same kind of notoriety, but it did not help that the production company Golan and Globus siphoned Superman 4 budget money to their personal bank accounts leaving a movie only a shell of what the first one was about, thus destroying the Reeve era franchise all together.

Ronde?
Only Jethro Bodine didn't like how his father Max Baer was portrayed in the film, and isn't happy with Richie Cunningham. Rich and some friends went to talk to him at his mansion, but things got heated between the two parties and Potsie ended up telling Granny to sit on it. Hopefully things resolve amicably.
I can't wait until they release "Breakin III". The original "Breakin" was the best movie released in 40 years! Yeah, Rocky Balboa has his spot in history, but Turbo....now there's a real American icon!!
