Question about a 1973 Topps wax pack

BBCE has this listed on their site and I was wondering if anyone knows how many cards are in this pack?

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

10 cards for a dime. Remember it like it was yesterday.
I think it went up in '75, but it could've been '74. Big inflation in those years (the rise of OPEC, among other factors) and paper was going thru the roof as well.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Griffins is correct. Full size 1974 packs were also 10 cents but contained only 8 cards. By 1975, there were 10 cards in a pack again but the price was raised to 15 cents.

  • Man, that works out to $25.00 per card. It is quite the gamble to open one isn't it? The SMR for high number PSA 9's is $32.00 and $10.00 for a PSA 8. That would have been a good return on your investment....01 per card to $25.00 per card. Is that a 25,000% return???

you're paying a premium for the unopened pack- figure you've got 1 card with a wax stain, and OC's were very common as well. Even assuming no corner ding to the entire pack it's still tough making any money back. Look at the '75 group wax break.
    Better to keep it sealed!

Agree 100%. You can also pick up a GAI 8 or even a GAI 9 1973 wax pack on ebay these days for less than $150.

I'll use this pack to make a point...

The graphics are just sweet - if I open it, it'll never be the same IMO.

I say keep that puppy entombed for everyone to look at.

And, I agree with those who say - cracking older wax is a major league crap shoot.

    Merry Christmas
