My second oldest coin found this week... (1811 silver)

Due to the holidays, I don't have a lot of time to put into this post, so I'll
cut to the chase and keep it short:
> Detected a spot I had never tried before and had read about Spanish
mission + Native American history there
> Things found that may tie to that history were a square nail and an old,
smashed one-piece button (button looks awful but the shank/loop is still
there... but no makers mark)
> Was using my "new" (used) Explorer XS, the signal was pretty deep,
but it pegged hard in the silver zone on the screen (top right corner), and
my guess would be that it was around 7" down (but still a sweet signal)
> Writing on the edge of the coin according to a web translation is
"God Protects France" (you can see "Protege" on the edge in one of the
pics below)
> Incredible history around the time this coin was minted (I kept
"pinching" myself thinking "that's THE Napoleon on this coin!" ... year
before the War of 1812... wow)
> It's about the size of a U.S. quarter (bullet is not of the same era as
the coin... but thought it looked good in the pictures )
Alright, that's it... too much stuff going on now that the holidays are
almost here. I'll try to check back in when I can... Hope you all enjoy
the pics. I'm very happy with this find!

That is a terrific find. Congrats Riccar.
That would be a wonderful unexpected surprise comming out of the ground for sure!
Congrats!
That must have been quite a surprise and a rush to find!
The December non-US coin poll will be most interesting.

That's the opposite of my definition of holidays!
The holiday fun has begun for my family (let the craziness begin )
But, I'll try to reply more once things cool down a bit...
HH ("happy hunting" and/or "happy holidays"!)

Majorly.
Wow, wow, wow.
