Can someone explain this to me?

I received my XX SAE's today, they were mailed from the fullfillment center via DHL to an independent mailing company here in NJ who then mailed them to me via USPS. This seems rather stupid and makes no sense. Why couldnt DHL have delivered them directly?

I would side with 410A on this one . I received
two from Fed Ex , but the single came DHL/USPS
Maybe a value driven shipment?

INXS- They get a reduced rate by limiting the stops by DHL to only the USPS. Depending upon what time it's received by the PO, delivery may not take place until the ext day.

I think I have you beat...I had 2 sets ship out on 11/17 via DHL. They were shown to be delivered to my local post office on 11/22. The post office claims they never recieved it, DHL says they have it scanned at destination, so I call the Mint and ask what to do. They tell me to fill out a form and mail it to them which I did on Wednesday. Today I look at my ship status (as I have another 5 sets on order) and it shows that the sets were RETURNED to the Mint with absolutely NO explaination to why this happened, but the Mint shows they are reshipping the two sets. At least now I am showing all seven sets "in stock and reserved". Hopefully they will ship some other way than DHL!!!
