Official Christmas "Feel Good" Thread

I just thought this could be a nice haven of good will and making merry for the holiday.

I'll start with - I got a nice 63F BB card for my set - I'll post it in the "official mail" thread when it arrives.

Also, I got my wife a great necklace for Christmas!

Anyone else care to join in?
Merry Christmas

  • Nice idea Stone. I bought my wife a new diamond tennis bracelet. I bought her one in 1992 when we were dating and it slipped off her wrist a couple years later and was lost. She is still devistated to this day that she lost it. Hopefully this new one will put her mind at ease. I think I'm going to get myself a Carlton rookie for my registry set.

    RIP GURU
  • My wife provided me with a membership to PSA for the coming year.

A friend told me that his son was interested in trading cards. In particular, his son (3rd grade) said that he was a fan of Cal Ripken, Jr. When I heard that, I had to give the kid some cards, including a GU bat card of his hero!

My wife and I were supposed to visit my parents for Christmas, but we're snowbound in Colorado. It's working out okay, since her parents live here. Today actually got very nice, and the whole neighborhood was out walking their dogs. (Our dog was freaked out by the snow and hadn't pooped in two days!) Since only a few crazy people were out driving, everyone was walking, skiiing, and snowshoeing right down the streets, and it was downright festive. We'll definitely have a white Christmas here!

Since my wife tolerates my card collecting enthusiasm, I picked her up a few items recently. The latest two arrived this week. They are all from Todd Warner and all are signed. We first saw his work while on Vacation in Hawaii and she commented on how she liked it.

    Zebra

    Rhino

    Giraffe1

    Giraffe2

  • Our power has been out the past 7 days. Just got it back on today and we are behind on Christmas activities but we will get caught up.
  • Not card related, but I bought my girlfriend's step-dad (probably will be my father-in-law eventually) a 2001 Dale Earnhardt 1:18 scale diecast car, featuring the paint job from his last race (black car, Sonic logo).

Cost a bit of cashola, but when I heard him lamenting that he never got a chance to get that particular car, I knew I had to find one for him. The guy works himself to the bone in a factory and has no hobbies except for the few diecast cars he has acquired. I don't even understand NASCAR, but I sure do understand the look on his face when he talks about races and those cars. Same look I get when I talk about Nolan Ryan cards.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...
