1980 topps test basseball scratch off game

hi:

came across a folder with 5 cards approximately 2.5x4.75 inches and the envelop is labeled "1980 topps test bb scratch off game"

the cards have 44 black scratch off panels on the fronts with a scroecard....the backs feature an for a topps locker and instructions for play

i normally would not bother the message board on such a trival set, but i flat out cannot identify

can some one help?

Do you have a scan of one?

Aren't these the 1974 scratch offs that were inserts in the 1974 Topps Emblem packs ? His description is consistent with those

I thought of that too, and went and checked a picture of the Emblem scratch-offs (shown below). The picture shows 45 non-black scratch off areas on the front and no scorecard. Size is right though.

Oh Oh. I have a bunch with 44 black squares and a score board too...and the locker ad on the back. I think I sent you one of them some time back. In looking at my unopened 74 emblem wax packs, the inserts appear to be like yours. So what he and I have is different. Do you remember the one I sent. If not, I have a bunch of them and can send you another . A mystery. I bought these from a guy by the name of Joe Sak. I bough a couple from him on e bay, and then a bunch off. I think he refered to them as 1980 issue too and they say "baseball scratch off" on the front of cards and the offer on the "locker" on the back expires 12-31-80.

They could not have fit in standard 1980 wax packs. Topps did put out some 5 X 7 cards in packs in 1980.. Maybe inserts in cello packs ? Or, maybe not released at all. We will have to do some digging. Stay tuned

I sure do....it's around here somewhere. I could have sworn it looked like the ones in the picture. Now I'll have to wade into the stacks and see what it looks like (beyond here, there be dragons!).

Good luck Bob. Come back safe.

While you're at it, apologize to your 1988 Score 3-D inserts. They don't like it if you don't call them trivial. image
