I got an early Christmas present from the Finnish board of antiquities. The finally recognized my donation of the 1725 gold mourning ring I dug this summer.
Here's what they sent me (in Finnish obviously)

It's nice to be wrong sometimes, as this greatly exceeds my expectations on several points
* Looks nice and is printed on good quality, thick paper
* Personalized, with my name, date, and nature of the donation
* Hand signed by the Director General of the board, who also bears the honorary title of State Archaeologist (top signature)

Hmm... I could imagine collecting these... only trouble is finding something else they're interested in first...
Maybe I should set a 2007 target of getting another one... image

That will look nice in a frame with a picture of the ring.

    Congrats.

Glad they sent you something you could frame. Much better than printing something
out on your own (think that's what you originally anticipated) and very cool that it has
    the official signatures.

Less than 2 weeks left in 2006... just enough time for you to add to your yearly stats!

It's nice to be recognized or thanked for something like that. I'm sure that we all have found things and returned them to owners and thanks just won't come out of their mouth.
