Updated with images - I got grades! In 12 days! And, nailed my first ever DCAM 1966 SMS Kennedy!

Updated 12.23.06 to add images.
Of course, it's not the coin I was expecting to go DCAM.
It's a strong example, but I didn't think it was quite there. I was expecting the 1965 to make it.

I've nailed eight 1967 SMS Kennedys in Deep Cameo, but never a 1965 or 1966 until now. The 1966 MS66DCAM in my set was acquired in a trade deal. I did once make a 1966 Jefferson in MS66DCAM.
As noted, I expected DCAM on the 1965, but I also had it graded a point lower at MS65. Looks like it got a contrast bump rather than the designation. I'll do a second chance offer on it.
On balance, I'm pretty damned happy with this submission even though I still haven't scored a DCAM 1965.
BTW, the 1966 was pulled from a set I picked up on eBay for $14.

What's this worth?
<< <i>You were long overdue for a "YOU SUCK"! >>
This one doesn't qualify for a full fledged YOU SUCK!!!™ It's only about a $700 to $800 coin, so it's a You Suck Lite™.

Didn't shoot any as I was pretty jammed up with other stuff. I'll shoot some when they get back.

I must ask tho, where's the dothead?
<< <i>Will the DCAM be on eBay anytime soon?

Not sure, but my inclination is no. The 1966 is so tough, I might just tuck the coin away in my stash.

Speaking of The Grand Nagus..........
I bought the Grand Nagus' Snuff box from the Christies Star Trek auction a few months ago.
I once made two different Pop. 1 scarce date Morgans, but that was way back in 1987-88
PCGS has been on the ball this last month, I had a sizable order graded and shipped in 6 business days. This is an order that would have taken 30 calendar days a year ago.
Don't I wish......

That is all a lot of people care about. Every time I bring a new purchase, I'm excited about, into work to show some buddies the first thing they always ask is, "how much did this cost"?
Congratulations on your accomplishments, Russ.

Congrats, Russ.

WOW, I guess I have something on Russ. Made a 66 in 67DCAM some time ago, and 2 or 3 65's in DCAM (all 65/66's)
Now at NGC made many more 1965/1966 UCAM's, but that's another story.
Anyhow, CONGRATS RUSS!!!

I think so too, but man it's a frustrating search. I've been hunting one for over four years and no joy yet.

Looked at least cameo in the image. At $14 not much of a risk if it turned out otherwise.

But Russ, you should know by now not to buy raw coins from Ebay!
My icon IS my coin. It is a gem 1949 FBL Franklin.
The '66 isn't too tough with a light cameo but finding ones that will grade CAM or DCAM are quite difficult.

I have looked for over 7 years for a 1966 SMS half with great frost and deep mirrors. I have found some with nice frost, but never have found any with deep, black, watery mirrors. The best 66 snares I have are two halves with nice frost and nice mirrors (CAM's easy) that I picked up for bid on the same day at the same place.
The best part is that both halves examples of one of the better obverse doubled dies for the date. 2 CAM and doubled die halves on the cheap.
Pretty nice for me but not nearly as nice as your DCAM score. Again, congrats Russ.
