Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

I took the plunge, now I need help from you fellow collecting thugs......

After much debate, I renewed my membership today........mainly because I have an ungodly number of cards to submit under the specials.
I have about 275 post 1972 cards that are worthy, mainly 72's, 73's, and 75's. I also have about 170 pre-1972 cards that are equally worthy, mainly 1954, 1957, 1961, a few 60's, 62's and 63's.

I can really only afford to submit about 50 cards from each special. Which ones would y'all like to see me submit?

Stay classy,

Ron

Will the graded cards be up for sale or remain in your collection?

If up for sale, then pick the ones which can be sold for the highest price. If for your collection, then take your time and submit as funds allow. But the vintage $6 looks like the best savings for submitting by year end. Not sure how PSA specials run from month to month as I have only been on the board for several months.

Most of the graded cards will remain in my collection. I think I'll pick out the 72's and 73's that have shots at 9's (maybe a 10 or two). They are stunning cards. The older ones I will have to choose more carefully. Some 8's in there and 7's for sure, but need to look close to weed out the lesser cards.

This reminds me. I completely forgot. I renewed my membership for 3 years last summer and I haven't used any of my vouchers yet. I guess I got some weeding out to do after the holidays. image

None, unless you plan on selling them. If they're going to stay in your collection, just leave them raw.

Send the '50's in first, regardless of condition (within reason). There are a lot more specials for '72 and up than there are for '50's cards, and you can often get '70's cards in high grade cheaper than the grading fees.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Well boys, I did some serious work tonight and here's the deal:

    1) 50 cards going in under the 1948-71 special. Mostly 54-57 Topps with a few early 60's sprinkled in.

    2) 50-75 cards going in under the 1972 and up special. Haven't settled on a final number yet, I need to look at a few cards and make some decisions. These are 1972 and 1973 only, and nearly all of them are from vending. They are the creme de la creme of what I have from those years right now, and in my mind are super high grade...........which probably sets me up for disappointment. Each of these cards has been louped carefully twice. I need to send these in to establish a baseline with the rest of what I have.

    I'll keep everyone posted!
